About the artist

A familiar voice in Romanian country and folk repertoire.

Adrian Sărmășan is a complete artist, poet, and songwriter whose unique presence has left a lasting mark on the Romanian music scene. His artistic journey is shaped by a fascinating contrast: after years of discipline at the "Mihai Viteazul" Military High School and the "Aurel Vlaicu" Aviation Institute, he chose the freedom of musical expression, making the stage his true home. He made his artistic debut in 1979 on the legendary Cenaclul Flacăra stage. Since then, he has built a distinctive musical universe where folk, country, pop, and rock blend seamlessly, creating an authentic and deeply personal style that resonates with audiences. Beyond music, Adrian Sărmășan is also an accomplished poet and the author of three poetry collections: "Dacă vrei…" (If You Want...) (2008), "Zâmbesc fără frică" (I Smile Without Fear) (2013), and "Raiul lupilor îngeri" (The Paradise of Angel Wolves) (2016). This literary side of his artistry is reflected in every song he writes, transforming his lyrics into heartfelt stories set to music. With nine original albums, all recorded live in the studio, Adrian remains true to his belief that genuine emotion can never be replaced by technical perfection. The message that best defines his artistic journey is simple, yet profoundly sincere: "There is no happiness without love."
